2. Introduction (paraphrase)

Giữ:

geothermal power plant – electricity

Dùng:

shows → illustrates / explains
how → the process by which

Ví dụ:

→ Key idea:

Chu trình khép kín (circular process)
Kết hợp giữa tự nhiên (heat from rocks) và máy móc (turbine, generator)

4. Chia BODY

BODY 1 – Giai đoạn dưới lòng đất

Ban đầu:

→ nước lạnh (cold water) được bơm xuống khoảng 4.5 km dưới mặt đất

Sau đó:

→ đi qua injection well

Tiếp theo:

→ nước đi vào geothermal zone (hot rocks)

→ và được làm nóng

Sau đó:

→ nước nóng được đẩy lên (pumped up) qua production well

BODY 2 – Giai đoạn trên mặt đất

Nước nóng:

→ đi vào condenser

→ được chuyển thành hơi nước (steam)

Hơi nước:

→ làm quay turbine

Turbine:

→ vận hành generator

Cuối cùng:

→ điện (electricity) được tạo ra và truyền đi

5. Gợi ý từ vựng

be pumped down/up → được bơm xuống / lên
pass through → đi qua
be heated by → được làm nóng bởi
be converted into steam → được chuyển thành hơi nước
drive a turbine → làm quay turbine
generate electricity → tạo ra điện
underground / surface → dưới lòng đất / trên mặt đất

The diagram illustrates how a geothermal power plant generates electricity using heat from beneath the Earth’s surface.

Overall, the process involves five main stages, beginning with the injection of cold water deep underground and ending with electricity production through a turbine and generator system.

Initially, cold water is pumped down approximately 4.5 kilometres into the ground via an injection well. This water then enters a geothermal zone, where it is heated by hot rocks. As a result, the water temperature rises significantly.

Next, the heated water is forced back to the surface through a separate production well. Upon reaching the surface, it enters a condenser, where it is converted into steam. This steam is then directed towards a turbine, causing it to spin.

Finally, the rotating turbine powers a generator, which produces electricity that can be supplied to the grid.
