Pie charts: Australian household energy use vs greenhouse gas emissions

1. Giải thích đề

Hai biểu đồ tròn cho thấy tỷ lệ sử dụng năng lượng trong hộ gia đình ở Úc và lượng khí thải nhà kính tương ứng theo từng hoạt động.

→ Dạng: pie charts – so sánh 2 biểu đồ khác nội dung

2. Introduction (paraphrase)

Giữ các từ khóa:

use → consumption

Mẫu:

The pie charts illustrate the distribution of energy use and the corresponding greenhouse gas emissions in Australian households.

4. BODY 1 – Energy use

Heating: 42% → cao nhất

Water heating: 30%

Other appliances: 15%

Refrigeration: 7%

Lighting: 4%

→ Ý chính: năng lượng chủ yếu dùng cho heating và water heating

5. BODY 2 – Greenhouse gas emissions

Water heating: 32% → cao nhất

Other appliances: 28%

Heating: 15% → giảm mạnh so với mức tiêu thụ

Refrigeration: 14%

Lighting: 8%

Cooling: 3% → thấp nhất

→ Ý chính: emissions tập trung vào water heating và appliances

The two pie charts compare the proportions of energy use in Australian households and the corresponding shares of greenhouse gas emissions by end use.

Overall, heating accounts for the largest share of energy consumption, whereas water heating is the biggest contributor to emissions. Notably, most other categories generate a higher proportion of emissions relative to the energy they consume, except for heating.

In terms of energy use, heating dominates at 42%, followed by water heating at 30%. Other appliances account for 15%, while refrigeration and lighting represent relatively small shares at 7% and 4%, respectively.

By contrast, water heating is the leading source of greenhouse gas emissions at 32%, closely followed by other appliances at 28%. Refrigeration contributes 14%, which is double its share of energy use, and lighting also produces a higher proportion of emissions (8%) compared to its energy consumption. Cooling, although not significant in energy use, accounts for 3% of emissions. Meanwhile, heating produces only 15% of emissions despite being the largest consumer of energy, indicating it is comparatively less emission-intensive.
