The diagrams compare the layout of a museum in 1957 and 2007.

Overall, the museum was expanded and modernised, with more facilities added and the internal layout reorganised. Notably, new exhibition spaces, an education centre, and a café were introduced.

In 1957, the museum had a simple structure, with a large national history exhibition occupying most of the building. Inside it, there were two smaller rooms: a local history room on the left and a museum store room on the right. The entrance hall was located at the front, facing a road, while a garden surrounded the building.

By 2007, the building had been extended and redesigned. The entrance was moved to the left side, leading to a reception area in the centre. The local history room remained but was relocated to the middle of the museum. New facilities, including a special exhibitions area and an education centre, were added at the top, while a café was introduced on the right. The former store room was replaced by a museum room. In addition, a car park was constructed in front of the building, replacing part of the garden.
