The maps show how the ground floor of a library changed between 2001 and 2009\.

Overall, the layout was reorganised to include more specialised sections, particularly for children and digital media, while the central reading area remained.

In 2001, the library had a relatively simple layout. Fiction occupied the top area, while history and self-help were located along the left wall. Newspapers and periodicals were placed on the right side. In the centre, several tables were arranged for reading, and the librarian’s desk was positioned near the entrance, with stairs in the southeast corner.

By 2009, the space had been divided into more categories. A children’s books section was introduced at the top, along with a designated children’s area in the centre. New sections such as law, economics, and kitchen appeared along the left side, while fiction and history were moved to smaller areas. The right side was converted into a films and DVDs section, and computers were added near the bottom right. The librarian’s desk, entrance, and stairs remained in the same positions, although the number and arrangement of tables changed slightly.
