The maps illustrate how the village of Ryemouth has changed from 1995 to the present.

Overall, the village has undergone significant redevelopment, with a shift from a fishing-based economy towards residential and tourism functions. Several original features have been removed or repurposed, while new facilities have been introduced.

In 1995, Ryemouth featured traditional coastal activities and open land. A fish market and fishing port were located along the shoreline, with a row of shops nearby. To the northeast, there was farmland and a forest park, while housing was concentrated in the northwest. A hotel stood close to the forest park, and a café was positioned near the coast.

At present, many of these features have been replaced. The fishing port and fish market have disappeared, making way for apartment buildings along the coast. The former shops have been converted into restaurants. The farmland and forest park have been redeveloped into recreational areas, including a golf course and tennis courts.

A car park has also been added next to the hotel, which remains in the same location. The café is still present but appears slightly repositioned.
