HƯỚNG DẪN VIẾT BÀI

IELTS Writing Task 1 – Population size (1990 vs 2000)

so sánh theo thời gian (1990 → 2000)
so sánh giữa dự đoán và thực tế

2. Cách viết Introduction

Paraphrase đề bài, giữ đủ:

dân số
3 thành phố
1990, 2000 (prediction & actual)

Viết gọn là được nha.

3. Cách viết Overview

IELTSchef gợi ý các ý chính:

Dân số tăng ở tất cả các thành phố
Sao Paulo luôn có dân số lớn nhất, Jakarta nhỏ nhất
Số liệu thực tế năm 2000 đều cao hơn dự đoán

Chỉ cần 2–3 câu vậy là đủ overview nha.

BODY 2 – Shanghai & Jakarta

Shanghai:

1990: \~12 triệu

Dự đoán: \~14 triệu

Thực tế: \~16 triệu

Jakarta:

1990: \~8 triệu

Dự đoán: \~11 triệu

Thực tế: \~13 triệu

IELTSchef lưu ý:

Cả hai thành phố đều:

tăng đều
và số thực tế đều cao hơn dự đoán

5. Gợi ý paraphrase

IELTSchef gợi ý bạn một số cách diễn đạt:

population / population size
was projected to / was expected to
actual figures / recorded figures
increased / grew steadily

Ví dụ:

The population of all three cities increased over the period, with actual figures exceeding predictions in 2000 nha.

Sao Paulo remained the largest city, experiencing the most significant growth.

The chart compares the population sizes of Jakarta, Shanghai and Sao Paulo in 1990, alongside predicted and actual figures for 2000, measured in millions.

Overall, all three cities experienced population growth over the period. Sao Paulo remained by far the largest city, while Jakarta had the smallest population. In each case, the actual figures in 2000 slightly exceeded the earlier predictions.

In 1990, Sao Paulo had the highest population at around 18 million, followed by Shanghai at approximately 12 million and Jakarta at about 9 million. By 2000, all cities were expected to grow, with projections of roughly 22 million for Sao Paulo, 14 million for Shanghai and 11 million for Jakarta.

However, the actual figures in 2000 were marginally higher than predicted. Sao Paulo reached about 24 million, while Shanghai rose to around 16 million. Jakarta also increased to approximately 13 million, maintaining its position as the smallest of the three cities despite steady growth.
